In addition to outlining the path ahead for the new Congress, we also shared additional information on the exciting developments during the last few days of 2022 when Congress passed a funding bill that included the biggest non-emergency investment in summer hunger in almost 50 years! The $28.5 billion investment in Child Nutrition Programs included two of our most aspirational policy goals – nationwide expansion of Summer EBT and non-congregate meals during the summer months. While there were tough trade-offs in this package and we didn’t get everything we wanted, it is an overall win for kids.
