Case Study: Bridging Nutrition Gaps: Hillsborough County Schools’ Path to Holistic Student Well-being
The partnership between Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) and Feeding Tampa Bay offers a replicable model for improving student well being by aligning SNAP outreach with school nutrition goals. By using data to identify likely eligible but unenrolled families, the collaboration helped connect households to benefits while advancing district-wide access to free school meals through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Through trusted school-based and multilingual outreach and innovative technology tools from mRelief, the initiative reduced barriers and made it easier for families to access critical supports.
Rooted in strong cross-sector collaboration and a shared commitment to equity, the HCPS and Feeding Tampa Bay partnership demonstrates how schools and community partners can work together to create lasting impact.
