Back-to-School Meal Service: Feeding Kids During the 2020-2021 School Year – Part 2

In this webinar, we hear from Dallas ISD (Texas) and Burke County Public Schools (Georgia)— about their plans for feeding kids during the 2020-2021 school year.

Dallas ISD will start the new school year on September 8th and at this time, the plan is 100% distance learning for at least the first four weeks of school. Dallas ISD serves 155,000 students across 220 schools. We hear from Michael Rosenberger, Executive Director of Food & Child Nutrition Services, and Julie Fletcher, Director of Support Services, Food & Child Nutrition Services.

Burke County Public Schools will also start the new school year on September 8th. The district will open the school year with two instructional models—a hybrid model and full distance/remote learning. Students following the hybrid model will be designated as either A or B and will participate in face-to-face learning two days a week and remote/distance learning three days a week. Burke County Public Schools serves 4,225 students across 6 schools. We hear from Donna Martin, Director of School Nutrition Programs.
